Registration deadline
1st of October 2012, 24:00h or with attainment of 8000 participants in Marathon / Halfmarathon

Number transfer
The start number can be transferred to another person only on Friday and Saturday at the Trouble Desk at number pick up. Payment slip or registration confirmation must be shown. Charge CHF 20.00. Change of category is not possible. No Transfers on Sunday possible!

Cancellation
If you cancel your registration before 1st of October 2012 you will receive a personel free start for 2013. No money refund possible

Annulment insurance
With online registration you have the option to purchase an annulment insurance. The prepaid entry fee may be insured for accident, illness or other reasons according to insurance terms

Closing time is 12:15pm for Halfmarathon and 14.45pm for Marathon and 5 Miles Run. Runners who do not cross the finish line within the time limit will not be classified. Marathon runners who pass the turning point after 12.00 am have to end the race..

Race Number pick up
You will receive your race number at pick up desk after showing your Marathon-Newspaper, which will be mailed electronically to your in mid october 2012. Race Number will not be mailed to the race participants.

Timing
Chips are used for time measurement. All runners of the Lucerne Marathon will receive a coded chip along with their race number which has to be returned after completing the race. It is prohibited to use your own chips. The race number must be worn well visible and unfolded on the front. The participant will be charged a CHF 50.- fine if the chip is not returned

Intermediate time – Kilometer 12.5 (Start 5 Miles Run Horw) – Kilometer 21.0975 (Halfmarathon) – Kilometer 34 (Horw)

Pacemaker
The Lucerne Marathon pacemakers will be easily recognisable and run for finishing times 3:00h, 3:15h, 3:30h, 3:45h, 4:00h, 4;15h, 4:30h and 4:45h for the Marathon and 1:30h, 1:35h, 1:40h, 1:45h, 1:50h, 1:55h and 2:00h for the Halfmarathon.

Winners presentation
Presentation will be held at the Museum of Transport
– Halfmarathon 11am
– Marathon 12.30pm
– Team 2.00pm

The ceremony will be only for overall winners.

Prices, Results, Certificate
All paraticipants arriving before closure will receive their finisher present immediately after finishing the race by returning the datachip. The finisher medal must be ordered separately with registration form and can be collected after the race by showing the imprinted voucher on the race number. Each runner can download his personal certificate for free from the official website after the race. The results can be viewed online after 4:00 pm on race day.

Clothes, Changing rooms, Showers
Will be at the “Schulhaus Würzenbach” close to the start- and finish area by the Museum of Transport. The bags of the “5 Miles Run” participants can be left at the changing rooms in Horw. They will be transferred to the finish in Lucene (Changing rooms “Schulhaus Würzenbach”)

Toilets
Toilets are at the food and medical stations, at start and finish area, the changing rooms and by the entertainment areas

Public Transportation – Special offer
The journey to the Lucerne marathon by public transport is urgently recommended. The organizer does not offer parking lots for private vehicles.

The entry ticket (sent by email) authorises you to purchase a special ½-price ticket to Lucerne (with a Half-Fare travelcard as much as a 75% discount). This ticket is available from station ticket offices, most automatic ticket machines and online from www.sbb.ch/lucernemarathon. The ticket is only valid together with this entry ticket and on the return journey together with the race number. The ticket is only valid for 5 days from and including 25 October 2012. With this entry ticket or with the race number you have free travel in the city of Lucerne and immediate environs on Sunday 28 October 2012 (Passepartout zones 101 201 202 203 401 402 403).

For competitors resident within the “Passepartout” area (cantons of Lucerne, Nidwalden and Obwalden)
Free 2nd class travel on Sunday 28 October 2012 in all zones of the Passepartout fare network. This voucher is valid as a ticket together with the entry ticket for travel on the outward journey. On the return journey the voucher is valid for travel if used together with the race number.

Between KKL and Verkehrshaus, a free ship shuttle circulates. Every hour, trains of line S3 “Lucerne–Arth-Goldau” stop at the SBB station “Verkehrshaus”.

Buses of VBL or the trains brings you the Start of 5 Miles Run in Horw.

Timetable

Physical condition
With registration the runner declares to be in a fit state of health and has trained to a sufficient standard for the race and is in good physical condition.

Medical advisory
With registration you confirm to have read the advisory. Severe exertion during or soon after any kind of fever is extremely dangerous. If you find yourself in this situation you must withdraw. Make sure to drink enough liquid before during and after the race. In case of not feeling well during the race (shortness of breath, dizziness, exhaustion, great pain etc) you should stop running. You can be disqualified from the race by medical orderlies or doctors in the event you are having physical problems.

If you are planning to become much more physically active than you are now, start by answering the seven questions in the form below. If you answer one of those questions with “yes”, you need to visit a sports physician for a check-up. If you are between the ages of 35 and 60, a check with your doctor is reasonable before you start. If you are over 60 years of age you should check with your doctor anyway.

Medical care
Along the race course there are several first aid stations at regular intervals where a doctor or someone else from the medical staff can help (see course map). There is a tent in the finish area where emergencies can be treated. Aid by our medical staff along the course an in the finish area is included in the entry fee. Moreover, there are ambulances ready along the race course to hospitalize someone in case of emergency. The transportation to the hospital and any treatments at the hospital are not included in the entry fee.
